Mathura Vrindavan

Braj runs on its own darshan logic — no fixed aartis at Banke Bihari, just curtain-drawn glimpses every few minutes — and on a festival calendar that swells the twin towns beyond measure: Janmashtami on 25 August 2027 and the Lathmar Holi week every March.

Mathura is Krishna’s birth city (Dwarkadhish temple, the Yamuna ghats); Vrindavan, 12–16 km away, is where he is held to have lived — Banke Bihari, ISKCON’s Krishna-Balaram temple, Prem Mandir, and the closed-at-night grove of Nidhivan. • Festivals: Janmashtami (25 Aug 2027) and Holi-Lathmar week (15–17 March 2027, reported) are the two summit events — book months ahead.
• Everyday: winter (Nov–Feb, reported climatology 12–30 °C class) is the comfortable window; May crosses 41 °C.
• Weekends: Banke Bihari’s lanes are the densest crowd in North Indian pilgrimage — weekday early mornings are the sane version.
