Who Built 1City?
1City was built by Sandeep Khanagwal, an SEO consultant and WordPress developer based in India. After spending years navigating inconsistent travel information for Rajasthan — costs that varied wildly across blogs, comparisons based on vibes rather than data — the goal was to build something different: a structured evaluation system that treats travel decisions the way an analyst would.
1City is an independent project. It is not funded by tourism boards, hotel groups, or affiliate networks. Every score, estimate, and comparison on this site comes from the 1City Travel Index — a framework I designed, documented, and apply consistently across all destinations.
Our Mission
Travel decisions are high-stakes. A week in the wrong destination at the wrong time of year — over-budget, wrong audience fit, poor weather — is not just a bad trip, it is a waste of time and money that could have been avoided with better information.
1City exists to replace guesswork with structure. We build tools that answer specific questions: What will this trip cost? Which destination fits my travel style? How do these two cities compare on safety? Our goal is that every traveller who uses 1City leaves with a clearer, more confident decision — based on data, not opinions.
What We Build
1City builds structured travel planning tools for Indian destinations. We don’t write travel stories or publish hotel reviews. We build calculators, comparison engines, and scored destination profiles — tools that help travellers make decisions, not just read about places.
The core of 1City is the 1City Travel Index — a structured scoring framework that evaluates every destination across 26 factors. Every score on this site comes from that framework, not editorial opinion.
What We Don’t Do
1City is not a travel blog. We do not publish travel stories, personal experiences, hotel reviews, or destination listicles. Every piece of content on this site is either a tool output, a structured data display, or documentation of our methodology.
Current Coverage
1City currently covers three destinations in Rajasthan:
- Jaipur — The Pink City. Architecture, culture, high tourist infrastructure.
- Jodhpur — The Blue City. Fort city, authentic Rajasthani character, lower crowds.
- Udaipur — The City of Lakes. Romantic setting, premium pricing, slower pace.
Additional destinations are in research. Coverage expands as each new destination completes the full 26-factor evaluation process.
Our Data
All destination data is sourced from a structured database, reviewed annually, and assigned a confidence level based on source quality. Level A sources are official (Rajasthan Tourism, Ministry of Tourism, IRCTC). Level B sources are established platforms. Level C sources are structured estimates, always marked as such.
