Banke Bihari is Vrindavan’s heart, and it darshans differently from every big temple in India: no long queue-side viewing — the curtain (parda) is drawn every few minutes, so devotees receive brief glimpses, repeated.
The temple’s own site fixes the summer clock (5 March–10 November): gates open 7:45 AM and 5:30 PM, bhog at 11–11:30 AM and 8:30–9 PM, closes noon and 9:30 PM; winter shifts to roughly 8:45 AM–1 PM and 4:30–8:30 PM (guide-reported). Checked 02 October 2026.

The timing table
| Season | Opens | Closes | Bhog windows |
|---|---|---|---|
| Summer (5 Mar–10 Nov) | 7:45 AM / 5:30 PM | 12:00 PM / 9:30 PM | 11–11:30 AM; 8:30–9 PM |
| Winter (Nov–Mar) | ~8:45 AM | ~1 PM / 8:30 PM | — |
Status: summer = official site; winter = reported. Festival days shift everything.
The crowd, honestly
This is the densest darshan crowd we cover — weekends are described in reporting as “a stampede in the making”, a warning worth respecting without alarm: go weekday mornings at opening, travel light, keep children’s hands held, and treat the lanes as one-way rivers. The 2025 Trust Act (statutory temple trust) and the sanctioned ~₹500–600-cr corridor project (SC-cleared, land acquisition underway in 2026) exist precisely to fix this — expect changing arrangements through 2027.

For elderly parents
The official FAQ describes assisted darshan via sewa adhikari Goswamis — no paid VIP senior line exists, and the inner lanes are not wheelchair-friendly at peak. Practical frame: e-rickshaw to the outer gates, weekday 7:45 AM entry, and the elderly guide’s full notes.
