🛕 About Rameswaram

Rameswaram is a sea-ringed Jyotirlinga island where the pilgrimage is physical: 22 sacred wells bathed in sequence inside India’s longest temple corridor, then the road’s end at Dhanushkodi.

The verified spine comes from the temple’s own HR&CE site — opens 4:00 AM, darshan 5 AM–1 PM and 3–9 PM, Spatika Linga darshan 5–6 AM — with the new Pamban vertical-lift rail bridge (opened April 2025) carrying pilgrims over the sea again. Checked 02 October 2026.

The island’s structure

The temple town sits at the island’s centre; the corridor is the heart; the theertham circuit is its ritual; Dhanushkodi is the final 20 km east; and Kalam’s house and memorial thread modern history through it. The set’s pages sequence all of it.
