Srisailam holds the Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga — and, uniquely, its Bhramaramba Shakti Peetha in the same complex (the Jyotirlinga-Shakti Peetha combination exists only here) — on a Nallamala forest ridge above the Krishna river. The Srisailam structure
The temple crowns the plateau town; Pathala Ganga (the river bank) lies far below, reached by ropeway or the long steps; and the dam backwaters frame the view. The forest setting means evening travel is best avoided on the ghat road.
