🛕 About Somnath
Somnath is the rare big shrine whose trust publishes nearly everything: darshan 6 AM–10 PM, three aartis (7 AM, 12 noon, 7 PM), a nightly light-and-sound show at 7:45 PM, free lockers for the electronics ban, and wheelchairs, golf carts and a lift for seniors. Accommodation is trust-run and books only through somnath.org — the trust’s own scam warning. Checked 02 October 2026.

The Somnath structure
The temple stands on the Arabian Sea shore; the circuit adds Bhalka Tirth and the tirths the trust lists, Prabhas Patan Museum (closed Wednesdays), and the pairings that make Somnath a base: Gir National Park (~45–65 km, safari closed mid-Jun–mid-Oct, booked only on girlion.gujarat.gov.in) and Dwarka (~233 km — the classic Saurashtra circuit, a roadmap phase). The 1-day itinerary sequences the town; the best-time page handles season and festivals (Mahashivratri 2027: 6 March).
