The Ramanathaswamy temple’s own HR&CE page fixes the day: opens 4:00 AM, devotees from 5:00 AM to 1:00 PM and again 3:00/3:15 PM to 9:00 PM, and the island’s signature Spatika Linga darshan from 5:00 to 6:00 AM daily.
The architectural frame is the longest temple corridor in India — an outer east–west run reported at ~1,219 metres with ~1,212 pillars. Checked 02 October 2026.

The Spatika Linga hour
The 5–6 AM crystal-linga darshan is the temple’s most sought hour — a guide source reports a ~₹50 counter ticket and a 4:30 AM arrival (unconfirmed; the official page lists no price). Whatever the mechanics, the timing is official: be inside before 5.
The corridor
Walking the full corridor is a darshan in itself — a reported 1,219 metres of pillared procession space, photographed best in the low morning light when the pillars throw long shadows. Wheelchairs move along it (reported on request at gates — see the elderly guide).
