Three cities, one biography: Ayodhya, where Rama was born; Chitrakut, where tradition places eleven and a half of his fourteen exile years; Kashi, where the trail ends at Shiva’s own city.

The circuit runs 5–6 days, and its honest difficulty is Chitrakut — the middle leg has no daily direct express and a ~272 km road reality (reported), so the trail rewards travellers who accept its rhythm. Every leg below carries its source label; checked 02 October 2026.

  • Trains: the Chitrakut legs change by season — verify on IRCTC/NTES within a week of booking.

Variants

  • Prayagraj add-on (+1–2 days): the Sangam between Ayodhya and Chitrakut — rail-freight logic makes it nearly free as a stop.
  • Extended trail (12 days, package practice): two nights per city, Sarnath and Bhadohi weaving towns included (reported pattern).
