The Saryu front is Ayodhya’s evening anchor: the wide stepped ghats of Ram ki Paidi, the boat and cruise operations around Naya Ghat, and the quieter stretch toward Guptar Ghat.

Guide sites describe a daily post-sunset aarti here — roughly 6:00–7:30 PM depending on season — but unlike Ram Mandir’s aarti system, no official timing source exists for the riverfront, so everything on this page is labelled reported or unconfirmed. Checked 01 October 2026.

Evening plan that works

  1. Reach Ram ki Paidi 30–45 minutes before sunset — the steps fill as the light drops.
  2. Watch or join the aarti; the reported seasonal start drifts with sunset time (earlier in winter).
  3. If taking the cruise, do it after the aarti (or on a separate evening) — the ₹300 round trip is reported to run between Naya Ghat and Guptar Ghat.
  4. November bonus: this is Deepotsav’s stage — the 30-lakh-diya illumination is laid across these ghats (see the Deepotsav guide).

With elderly parents

The stepped ghats are the constraint. Ram ki Paidi’s central landings are broad, but railings and step-free descent vary; our senior guide’s pacing rules apply — drive to the drop-off, pick one vantage, and avoid the crush nights (festival eves).
